Job summary

Keolis Transit America in Leesburg, VA, seeks a safety-conscious bus operator to serve passengers and perform pre- and post-trip inspections. You must maintain a professional appearance and be flexible with schedule needs, including nights and weekends.

You will follow DOT regulations, ADA requirements, and fare procedures while communicating clearly with riders. A secure, comfortable ride and timely reporting of incidents are essential to this role.

Qualifications

• Must be able to report to work on-time, in a clean, neat uniform, ready to work.
• Preform a vehicle pre-trip and post trip inspection on assigned vehicle(s).
• Radio check his/her buses radio before leaving yard.
• Operate vehicles safely in all weather and traffic conditions per MDT/driver manifest.
• Follow fare collection procedures.
• Report all accidents, incidents, or unusual occurrences to dispatch and submit written reports.
• Adhere to ADA requirements and operate a wheelchair lift with safety restraints.
• Interact with the public positively and provide transit information as needed.
• Maintain a secure environment for passengers and assist as required.

Responsibilities

• Report accidents/incidents to dispatch and submit written reports as required.
• Adhere to ADA regulations and operate wheelchair lift safely.
• Provide transit information to passengers and maintain passenger safety.
