Job summary

LIFT Community Action Agency, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Transit Driver to operate buses and motor coaches on regular routes and private charters. The role includes assisting passengers, collecting fares, and ensuring safety in accordance with USDOT and state regulations.

This safety-sensitive position requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, perform inspections, and maintain records. ADA passenger assistance and courteous service are essential in this public transportation role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• License, Certificate or Registration; Valid Oklahoma Driver License.
• Obtain USDOT (US Department of Transportation) Physical with one- or two-year certification.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles; check gas, oil and water levels prior to departure.
• Drive vehicles over specified routes or to specified destinations according to time schedules in order to transport passengers, complying with traffic regulations.
• Park vehicles at loading areas so that passengers can board.
• Assist passengers with carry-on items, collect tickets or cash fares.
• Report delays or accidents.
• Advise passengers to be seated and orderly while on vehicles.
• Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.
