Job summary

The St. Cloud Metropolitan Transit Commission is seeking a full-time Dispatcher to handle Fixed Route and Dial-a-Ride customer service, and scheduling. This union role features seniority-based bid schedules and one weekday plus a floating day off each week.

The Dispatcher will use radios and scheduling software to coordinate operations, assist riders, and process fares at the transit center. Strong communication and computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in dispatcher, customer service or related field.
• Able to read, write and communicate in English clearly.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to transit riders by phone, in person or online.
• Operate two-way radio to coordinate with bus operators and staff.
• Schedule Fixed Route and Dial-a-Ride rides within operator shifts.
• Sell fare media and tickets and record all sales.
• Document customer comments and escalate issues to the Operations Manager.
