Job summary

The City of New York's Department of Transportation seeks a Manager-Transit Data and Policy to join the Transit Development unit within TPM. You will lead data-driven analysis to prioritize study work, and act as the lead in transit policy discussions and planning studies conducted by TPM and others.

You will develop and advance internal transit planning studies that support agency goals and provide recommendations for projects, including policy related to DOT’s Transit Signal Priority program

Qualifications

Master’s degree in city planning or related field or
Bachelor’s degree with 1 year of satisfactory experience in city planning.
Equivalent combination of education and experience with required degree.
Graduate education in planning may substitute for experience with limits.

Responsibilities

Use data to analyze and prioritize unit work and policy needs.
Represent TPM in transit-related policy discussions and planning studies.
Develop internal transit planning studies and project recommendations.
Plan and advise on DOT’s Transit Signal Priority program with Traffic Operations.
Report to the Director of Transit Planning and Policy and manage staff.
