Job summary

City of New York seeks a Manager- Transit Data and Policy to support Transit Development in TD. You will use data to analyze and prioritize work, represent TPM in policy discussions, and lead transit planning studies tied to agency goals.

You will also shape planning and policy for the Transit Signal Priority program while coordinating with DOT Traffic Operations and reporting to the Director of Transit Planning and Policy, with potential staff management responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in city planning or related field, or a bachelor’s degree with 1 year of satisfactory full-time experience in city planning.
• Graduate education may substitute for experience per 30 graduate credits for one year of experience; a bachelor’s degree is required.
• Two additional years of professional experience beyond minimum requirements for Assignment Level III.

Responsibilities

• Represent TPM in transit-related policy discussions and planning studies.
• Lead transit planning studies and plans led by others, e.g., MTA Borough Network Redesign.
• Develop and execute internal transit planning studies supporting agency goals.
• Plan, analyze, and provide policy recommendations for DOT’s Transit Signal Priority program with Traffic Operations.
• Report to the Director of Transit Planning and Policy and manage one or more staff members.
