Job summary

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) is seeking a summer intern to join the Ridership and Mobility Analysis team. The role focuses on data analysis and creating dashboards to inform ridership, mobility, and customer experience insights.

The internship lasts up to 13 weeks and may rotate across departments based on your major. You will compile and analyze data, prepare reports and data visuals, and participate in training sessions and departmental meetings.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent; attending accredited college/university.
• Intern must be aligned with academic requirements and major.
• Must have completed freshman year and be entering sophomore year.

Responsibilities

• Compiles, reviews and analyzes data; inputs and corrects data for reports.
• Assists in preparing management, operations, technical and administrative reports using data.
• Produces presentations, reports, and graphic representations of data.
• Reviews reports to identify problems and recommends solutions.
• Participates in training sessions and attends meetings to gain exposure to transit functions.
• Participates in and, at times, leads departmental meetings and working sessions.
