Job summary

WMATA’s Ridership and Mobility Analysis team seeks a summer intern to perform data analysis and create dashboards for ridership and mobility projects. The role includes researching data and preparing reports across operations, safety, IT, urban planning, and business functions.

Interns rotate among departments, work up to 13 weeks, and are supervised by executives or designees. Strong Excel and data visualization skills are beneficial, with a focus on public transit insights.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of personal computers and standard office equipment.
• Knowledgeable of spreadsheets, word processing and databases.

Responsibilities

• Compiles, reviews and analyzes data; inputs and verifies data for reports.
• Prepares management, operations, technical and administrative reports and dashboards.
• Produces presentations, reports and data visualizations for assigned department.
• Reviews reports and suggests solutions as instructed.
• Participates in training and department meetings to gain exposure to transit functions.
