Job summary

Modern Railway Systems, the systems subsidiary of Stacy Witbeck, seeks a Construction Project Manager (Transit) to lead east coast rail projects from Charlotte. You will manage budgets, schedules, field engineering, and subcontractor coordination to deliver on-time and within budget.

The role requires 5+ years in heavy civil rail transit, strong leadership, and the ability to read plans. Travel and a valid U.S. driver's license are required; relocation is not available.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in Heavy Civil, Systems and/or Rail Transit projects.
  • 5+ years as Project Engineer and/or Project Manager on Heavy Civil, Systems and/or Rail Transit projects.
  • Ability to read blueprints and plans; supervise and motivate subordinates.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee project budgets, approve invoices, process pay apps, manage change orders and cost forecasting.
  • Oversee on-site technical support and field layout; coordinate construction activities.
  • Develop project schedules with superintendents and monitor progress.
  • Coordinate subcontractors to ensure on-time, on-budget completion.
  • Monitor safety, quality and contract compliance across sites.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and project logs.
  • Review quantities and cost coding; approve material procurement.
  • Serve as liaison between owners, engineers, agencies, and the construction team.
