Job summary

Ramos CS, now part of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer to support the Resident Engineer on a transit capital program across rail and bus construction scopes in the Seattle area. The role includes contract administration, field inspections, reporting, and ensuring compliance with plans, specs, and safety rules.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering degree, EIT/CCM/PE credentials, 5+ years in transit construction management, and strong English

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• EIT/CCM/PE certification required; Washington PE preferred; out-of-state licenses considered.
• 5+ years of experience in Construction Management of transit, rail, or transportation projects.
• Experience supporting Resident Engineer or Construction Manager scopes on Public Works projects.
• Ability to read, write and understand English for job communications and instructions.

Responsibilities

• Supports safety oversight of Authority and contractor employees and the traveling public; observe operations and recommend corrective action.
• Reviews contractor operations for compliance with OSHA regulations and safety requirements.
• Maintains complete project records and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
• Prepares reports and daily diary of activities and discussions about progress.
• Coordinates with transit operations, maintenance, signals, track, and systems disciplines to sequence construction with minimal service impact.
• Supports change orders for alterations, deviations, additions, or deletions to plans and specs.
