Job summary

HDR is seeking a Construction Inspector in Los Angeles to support the LACMTA project portfolio, including rail, bus, highways and transit facilities. This role focuses on field construction inspection, contract conformance, and project reporting as part of a defined project team.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of field experience on heavy construction, a valid California driver’s license, and the ability to obtain OSHA-30 training. HDR offers an employee-owned culture and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years field experience on heavy construction projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field desirable.
• Valid California Class C driver’s license.
• Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30-hour training certification prior to work.
• HDR sponsorship (visa) for US employment not available.

Responsibilities

• Visits construction sites and inspects stages of construction up to completion.
• Assist in obtaining permits and monitor safety violations.
• Prepare non-conformance reports and maintain DIRs.
• Review submitted shop drawings and contractor payments.
• Verify conformance with plans, specs, codes; issue corrective action reports when needed.
