Job summary

The City of Conroe is seeking a Communications Technician to operate the Transit Communication Center, handling radio, telephone and teletype messages while receiving emergency calls and dispatching service.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, be at least 18 years old, and possess at least one year of transit dispatcher or scheduler experience. A valid Texas CDL with Passenger Endorsement is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Minimum of one year experience as transit service dispatcher or scheduler.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Transit Communication Center.
• Receive and transmit messages via radio, telephone and teletype.
• Receive emergency calls and dispatch service.
• Maintain situational awareness and coordinate dispatch actions as needed.
