The City of Conroe is seeking a Communications Technician to operate the Transit Communication Center, handling radio, telephone and teletype messages while receiving emergency calls and dispatching service.
Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, be at least 18 years old, and possess at least one year of transit dispatcher or scheduler experience. A valid Texas CDL with Passenger Endorsement is preferred.
Communications Technician shall be responsible for the operation of the Transit Communication Center. These duties include, but not limited to, receiving and transmitting messages via radio, telephone and teletype; receiving emergency calls for service; and dispatching calls for service.
High school diploma, GED or equivalent. Must be 18 years or older. Minimum of one year experience as transit service dispatcher or scheduler.
The work is light and requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, crouching, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, talking and walking.
