Job summary

SGB-SMIT USA, a division of a global transformer manufacturer, invites applications for a hands-on manufacturing role in a dynamic energy transition environment. You will work on winding, brazing, and coil preparation, following engineering instructions and quality guidelines.

Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, manufacturing experience, and a welding certification. Military experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; Welding certification preferred.
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience required; transformer manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Military experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Setup winding mandrels by building forms.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and instructions.
  • Wind coils per engineering instructions.
  • Braze connections as required by engineering instructions.
  • Hand taping of all exposed conductor according to engineering instructions.
  • Create crossovers as required by engineering instructions.
  • Modify stock materials within tolerances according to engineering instructions.
  • Perform and verify all work accordance with manufacturing methods (checklists).
  • Prepare and size coils
  • Use tow-motor, coil up-ender, coil press and overhead crane as required for job duties.
  • Maintain extremely clean winding facilities and equipment.
