Job summary

SGB-SMIT USA, a division of SGB-SMIT Group, is seeking a hands-on manufacturing professional to wind coils and assemble transformer components on-site in Louisville.

You will interpret engineering drawings, braze connections, prepare coils, and maintain clean winding facilities; welding certification is preferred and 1 year of manufacturing experience is required. Military experience is a plus. This is an equal opportunity employer.

  • High School diploma or GED required; Welding certification preferred.
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience required; transformer manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Military experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Setup winding mandrels by building forms.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and instructions.
  • Wind coils per engineering instructions.
  • Braze connections as required by engineering instructions.
  • Hand taping of all exposed conductor according to engineering instructions.
  • Create crossovers as required by engineering instructions.
  • Modify stock materials within tolerances according to engineering instructions.Perform and verify all work accordance with manufacturing methods (checklists)
  • Prepare and size coils
  • Use tow‑motor, coil up‑ender, coil press and overhead crane as required for job duties.
  • Maintain extremely clean winding facilities and equipment.
