Job summary

SGB-SMIT USA is seeking a skilled winding technician to assemble and wind coils for transformers. You will interpret engineering drawings, braze connections, wind coils, prepare and size coils, and maintain clean winding facilities and equipment. The role requires a high school diploma, welding certification preferred, and 1 year of manufacturing experience; transformer manufacturing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Welding certification preferred.
  • 1 year of manufacturing experience required.
  • Transformer manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Military experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Setup winding mandrels by building forms.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and instructions.
  • Wind coils per engineering instructions.
  • Braze connections as required by engineering instructions.
  • Hand taping of all exposed conductor according to engineering instructions.
  • Create crossovers as required by engineering instructions.
  • Modify stock materials within tolerances according to engineering instructions.
  • Perform and verify all work accordance with manufacturing methods (checklists).
  • Prepare and size coils.
  • Use tow-motor, coil up-ender, coil press and overhead crane as required for job duties.
  • Maintain extremely clean winding facilities and equipment.
