Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to deliver critical transformer service across the United States. You will perform installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and oil processing, visiting customer sites and working remotely as needed with extensive travel.

The role requires read-and-work-from drawings, independent problem solving, and strong safety compliance. Travel up to 85% is expected, with opportunities to improve equipment performance and service capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in transformer field service operations and testing.
• Ability to read mechanical/electrical drawings and manuals.
• Willingness to travel up to 85% and work outdoors in varying weather.

Responsibilities

• Deliver field service including installation, maintenance, and repairs.
• Perform transformer assembly and internal work.
• Read drawings and manuals and work independently.
• Repair, re-gasket, assemble, and disassemble transformer equipment.
• Operate Vacuum Oil Processors and oil-handling equipment.
• Coordinate resources, parts, and logistics.
• Build customer relationships and identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
