Job summary

Hitachi Energy seeks an experienced field service professional to install, commission, maintain, repair, upgrade, and retrofit power transformer assets. You will work on-site and remotely, interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, and follow technical manuals to ensure reliability and safe operation.

Role requires travel up to 85% and physical work outdoors; you will support customers, log activities, and assist in process improvements while adhering to regulations and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of transformer field service operations.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings and follow manuals.
• Willingness to travel up to 85% and work outdoors in demanding conditions.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site service activities including installation, commissioning, maintenance, repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and replacements.
• Support customer operations by addressing technical issues and anticipating service needs.
• Read and work from electrical and mechanical drawings, instructions, and technical manuals.
• Complete internal transformer work such as bushing connections, lead clearance, tapping, crimping, taping, and contoured joints.
• Repair, re-gasket, assemble, and disassemble transformer equipment as directed.
• Operate and maintain vacuum oil processing and oil handling equipment with direction, including completing required logs.
• Coordinate logistics for service jobs, including tools, resources, and spare parts.
• Contribute ideas for product and process improvements that enhance operations and customer service.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
