Job summary

Hitachi Energy is hiring a Field Service Technician to support transformer equipment across the United States. You will work with senior technicians to inspect, maintain, service, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, gaining expertise in vacuum oil processing, diagnostics, and transformer testing.

Expect up to 85% travel nationwide, with opportunities to learn from experienced professionals and advance in field service roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 2+ years in a technical or mechanical field.
• Military technical training or experience is equivalent and encouraged.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record; ability to travel up to 85% nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Learn transformer maintenance, service, repair, and troubleshooting with senior technicians.
• Perform precision mechanical work in high-voltage substations under supervision.
• Apply technical, mechanical, or military-acquired skills to hands-on field activities.
• Inspect equipment, assist with diagnostics and preventive maintenance.
• Operate Vacuum Oil Processors and oil-handling equipment with training.
• Support transformer testing and maintain accurate logs and site reports.
