Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician Class A to lead transformer service projects across the United States.

You will guide field crews, support customers, and oversee installation, maintenance, testing, repair, and modernization of power transformers and reactors. The role emphasizes safety, problem-solving, and operational excellence while providing opportunities to advance within a global technology leader and work on cutting-edge equipment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with 3+ years of professional experience or HS diploma with 5+ years.
• Strong knowledge of transformer field service operations, maintenance and electrical testing.
• Experience with transformer installation, assembly, vacuum and oil processing.
• Ability to lead technical teams safely in the field and travel up to 85%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support field crews of 2 to 8+ technicians during transformer service projects.
• Serve as the primary on-site contact for customers and subcontractors.
• Perform installation, maintenance, repair, inspection, relocation, retrofit and testing of power transformers and reactors.
• Plan and assign work to optimize safety, efficiency and schedules.
• Train and mentor technicians and ensure compliance with regulations.
