Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. seeks a Field Service Technician Class A to lead transformer service projects across the United States. You will guide field crews, interact with customers, and manage installation, maintenance, testing, repair, and modernization work on power transformers and reactors.

You will plan work, ensure safety, and deliver projects on time while mentoring technicians and supporting continuous improvement in field execution. Travel up to 85% is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with 3+ years of professional experience in transformer field service.
• Or a High School Diploma/GED with 5+ years of professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of transformer field service operations and electrical testing.
• Ability to lead technical teams safely in demanding field environments.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 85%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support field crews of 2–8 technicians during service projects.
• Serve as the primary on-site contact for customers and subcontractors.
• Perform installation, maintenance, repair, inspection, relocation, retrofit, and testing.
• Plan and assign work to optimize safety, efficiency, schedules, and resources.
• Conduct advanced electrical testing including TTR, winding resistance, insulation testing, SFRA, DFR.
• Mentor and train technicians to foster continuous learning and excellence.
