Job summary

Ombudsman Educational Services in Illinois is seeking a Special Education Teacher to lead instructional programs for elementary students with IEPs in our learning centers and classrooms. You will design engaging, personalized lessons that align with state standards and incorporate innovative curriculum resources while fostering a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education, special education or a closely related field.
• Licensed currently or in process of obtaining IL PEL credential.
• Licensed currently or in process of obtaining IL SSE or LBS1 credential.
• Ability to obtain and maintain crisis management training certification.
• Experience with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction in alternative/special education settings.
• Experience with IEPs and students with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional process for elementary students with IEPs, designing personalized lessons.
• Deliver differentiated instruction individually or in co‑teaching settings.
• Develop detailed daily lesson plans aligned to standards.
• Track student progress and maintain accurate records and reports.
• Collaborate with staff/parents to implement PBIS and behavior strategies.
• Adapt curricula to meet diverse learning needs and provide guidance on differentiation methods.
