Job summary

The City of St. Peters is seeking a motivated Transfer Station Loader Operator to support the operation of the City’s new Material Recovery Facility and Transfer Station. The role requires hands-on heavy equipment operation and experience in solid waste management or recycling services, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Normal hours are 40 per week with a rotating schedule including Saturdays and some holidays, covering 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizen or legally authorized to work.
• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of applicable experience.
• CDL Class B with air brakes valid in Missouri or obtainable within 120 days; CDIP within 60 days.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 75 pounds and occasionally more than 100 pounds.

• Perform skilled labor in processing and transferring municipal solid waste and recyclables.

Job Summary

The City of St. Peters is looking for a motivated and safety-conscious Transfer Station Loader Operator to join our Solid Waste Division. This position supports the daily operations of our new, state-of-the-art Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and Transfer Station by ensuring the efficient handling, sorting, and disposal of solid waste and recyclable materials. This is a hands‑on role ideal for individuals with experience in heavy equipment operation, solid waste management, or recycling services.

Key Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
• High School graduate or GED certificate.
• One (1) year of applicable experience.
• Class "B" CDL with air brakes valid in the state of Missouri or obtain within 120 days of employment. Commercial drivers' instruction permit (CDIP) must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 lbs.
