Job summary

Phoenix Children's is seeking a Transfer Center RN to serve as the frontline contact for families and providers seeking information about hospital services. The role requires 2–3 years of ER nursing experience and RN license; shifts vary with 7am–7:30pm coverage and a PRN status.

Responsibilities include coordinating transfers, admitting decisions, bed placement, and collaboration with nursing and other clinical operations to ensure timely patient access and positive family experiences.

Qualifications

• RN license required and active
• Emergency Room nursing experience preferred (minimum 2–3 years)
• Excellent telephone etiquette and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Coordinate transfers and direct admissions with providers.
• Collect intake data from ED, physician offices, and clinics.
• Document acceptance calls and ensure quality and customer service.
• Collaborate with Patient Placement and admitting, EVS, and case management.
• Manage bed board and bed capacity, escalating issues as needed.
• Assist in patient flow, triage and prioritization using clinical judgment.
