Job summary

Phoenix Children's is seeking a Transfer Center RN to be the voice and guide for families and providers needing information about hospital services. The role requires 2–3 years of ER nursing experience, an active RN license, and is PRN with variable shifts.

You will coordinate all aspects of patient placement, admissions, and transfers, partnering with nursing and clinical operations to ensure access, throughput, and a positive patient family experience.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• 2–3 years of Emergency Room nursing experience.
• PRN position; prior hospital transfer coordination experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage requests for transfers and direct admissions; coordinate provider communication.
• Collect intake data from ED, physician offices, Phoenix Children's clinic and referring facilities.
• Coordinate MD-to-MD acceptance calls and document outcomes with focus on quality and customer service.
• Collaborate with Patient Placement to determine benefits/eligibility and bed placement needs.
• Triage and prioritize patient information and acuity to facilitate patient flow across facilities.
• Support department process improvement and timely patient admissions with internal teams.
