Job summary

Phoenix Children's is seeking a Transfer Center RN to serve as the frontline liaison for families and providers seeking information about services. The role requires nursing expertise, strong communication, and knowledge of hospital operations to direct patients to appropriate resources.

This position coordinates direct admissions, transfers, and patient placement while working with nursing and clinical operations to ensure flow, throughput, and capacity are optimized.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years of Emergency Room experience.
• RN license is required.
• Strong interdepartmental coordination and customer service favored.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate transfers and direct admissions, and communicate with providers.
• Collect intake data from ED, physician offices, and Phoenix Children's clinics.
• Coordinate MD-to-MD acceptance calls and document outcomes.
• Collaborate with admitting, EVS, case management to ensure timely admissions and bed availability.
• Demonstrate effective communication with families and healthcare teams.
