Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital seeks a Patient Placement Coordinator to lead the intake and transfer process, coordinating with nursing and clinical operations to facilitate patient access and throughput. You will use your RN background to direct patients and families to the right resources and work across departments to improve flow and capacity.

The role requires 2–3 years of ER nursing experience and an active RN license.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2-3 years of Emergency Room experience.
• RN license required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Manages transfers and direct admissions, coordinates provider communication.
• Accurately collects intake data from ED, physician offices, clinics.
• Coordinates MD-to-MD acceptance calls and documents outcomes.
• Monitors bed capacity, escalates bed placement issues with leadership.
• Collaborates with admitting, EVS, case management to ensure timely admissions.
• Models Family Centered Care with clear, timely communication.
