Job summary

Phoenix Children's seeks a Transfer Center RN to be the front line for families and providers seeking information about services. You will bring extensive knowledge of hospital operations, educate callers about Phoenix Children's offerings, and use RN skills to direct patients to the right resources.

Minimum 2–3 years ER nursing experience is required, and RN licensure is mandatory. New graduates may apply to dedicated opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have RN license and 2–3 years Emergency Room experience.
• Experience in hospital transfer coordination and patient placement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages transfer and direct admissions requests and coordinates provider communications.
• Collects intake data from ED, physician offices, and clinics.
• Coordinates MD-to-MD acceptance calls and documents them with focus on quality and service.
• Collaborates with Patient Placement to determine benefits/eligibility.
• Manages ED referrals and communicates referrals to ED.
• Triages and prioritizes patient information and acuity to facilitate patient flow.
• Coordinates bed placement and throughput with nursing units and leaders.
• Tracks admissions and collaborates with admitting, EVS, case management for timely access.
