Job summary

Phoenix Children’s Hospital is seeking a Transfer Center RN for part-time and full-time day or night shifts. The role requires an RN license and 2–3 years of Emergency Room experience, with the breadth to advise families and providers about services and to route patients to the appropriate resources.

You will coordinate admissions, direct transfers, and bed placement, collaborating with admitting, EVS, and case management to ensure timely patient flow and a positive patient and family experience.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• 2–3 years Emergency Room nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages transfer and direct admissions requests and coordinates provider communication.
• Collects intake data from ED, physician offices, and Phoenix Children’s clinics.
• Coordinates MD-to-MD acceptance calls and documents them with a focus on quality and service.
• Collaborates with Patient Placement to determine benefits/eligibility.
• Manages ED referral calls and communicates referrals to ED.
• Triage and prioritize patient information and acuity to aid in throughput across facilities.
• Ensures age-appropriate care and smooth patient flow through capacity planning.
