Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group seeks a transcriptionist to support the laboratory team by accurately transcribing recordings and ensuring correct patient identification on documents. You will format and review transcripts to meet client specs and deliver reports promptly.

Typical hours are 9-5:30 with one weekly evening shift from 12 PM to 8 PM; the role requires attention to detail, strong grammar, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

• Fax completed reports to the appropriate provider.

Summary

Transcriptionists are an integral part of the laboratory team and provide support in patient testing. Team members are responsible for ensuring that patient identification on both specimens and medical documentation are correct and accurate. They also provide resolution for pre-analytic specimen related issues.

Job Responsibilities

• Listen to and transcribe recordings to text files.
• Maintain accuracy while transcribing texts.
• Complete transcriptions in a timely manner; reviewing grammar, punctuation and spelling prior to submission.
• Format and notate transcriptions based on specific client requirements.
• Correct any errors or inaccuracies in a timely manner.
• Fax completed reports to the appropriate provider.

Physical Demands

• Sitting for prolonged periods of time, the ability to hear and understand speech, and the ability to use hands and fingers to operate a keyboard.
