Job summary

DOCS Dermatology Group seeks a dedicated transcriptionist to support the laboratory team by accurately transcribing recordings into text and ensuring correct patient identification on documents.

The role requires one weekly evening shift (12p-8p) in addition to normal business hours (9a-5:30p) and offers a stable, team-oriented environment with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k matching, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Ability to type quickly and accurately while proofreading.

Responsibilities

• Listen to and transcribe recordings to text files.
• Maintain accuracy while transcribing texts.
• Complete transcriptions in a timely manner; review grammar, punctuation and spelling prior to submission.
• Format and notate transcriptions based on client requirements.
• Correct errors or inaccuracies promptly.
• Fax completed reports to providers.
• Participate in benefits package and company policies.

Summary

Transcriptionists are an integral part of the laboratory team and provide support in patient testing. Team members are responsible for ensuring that patient identification on both specimens and medical documentation are correct and accurate. They also provide resolution for pre-analytic specimen related issues.

Job Responsibilities

• Listen to and transcribe recordings to text files.
• Maintain accuracy while transcribing texts.
• Complete transcriptions in a timely manner; reviewing grammar, punctuation and spelling prior to submission.
• Format and notate transcriptions based on specific client requirements.
• Correct any errors or inaccuracies in a timely manner.
• Fax completed reports to the appropriate provider.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to type quickly and accurately while proofreading.
• Excellent grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.

• Ability to manage multiple concurrent deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating system

• Previous transcription experience preferred.

Physical Demands

• Sitting for prolonged periods of time, the ability to hear and understand speech, and the ability to use hands and fingers to operate a keyboard.
