Job summary

Expeditors in Melrose Park, IL is seeking a detail-oriented operations associate to monitor shipments, maintain data integrity for events, and ensure KPI adherence. You will communicate with customers and global offices, escalating issues as needed, while upholding company policies and regulations.

The role emphasizes strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and a proactive approach to branch training and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Six months to one year of domestic operations experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of the Chicagoland area.
• Operations/Industry knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shipments in transit and ensure data integrity for events and references.
• Communicate with customers, Expeditors offices worldwide, and coworkers via high volume channels.
• Escalate problems to management when necessary.
• Promote compliance with company policies and government regulations.
• Attend branch meetings and complete required training hours.

Job Description

• Mastering our customers’ standard operating procedures (SOP).
• Understand department process flow and look for best practices to improve operational efficiency and productivity.
• Collaborating with management
• Monitoring shipments in transit (Outbound Workflow, etc.) daily to ensure the following:
  • Data integrity for events and references (APR, APT/XDD, RDL, SHI, SHR, etc.) are updated properly.
  • Customers shipments are delivering per KPI’s, RDL’s and SOP’s
  • Exceptions are managed and resolved immediately.
• Communicate effectively and timely with customers, Expeditor’s offices worldwide, and co-workers through high volume of email, phone, instant message, and in person.
  • Status Reports sent out daily to customers. Delays are notated with reasons for the delay.
• Escalation of problems to Management when necessary.
• Promote compliance in diligently following all company policies and regulations and performing the task at hand with outstanding integrity and pride.
• Always meet compliance to regulations internal and external in accordance with government regulations.

• The position pays $20.00-$28.00 per hour based on experience and education
