Job summary

Expeditors is hiring for a Domestic Operations role in the Melrose Park area. The candidate will handle import file creation, scheduling appointments, GPS tracking, and shipment dispatch while ensuring compliance with company procedures.

Responsibilities

• Create import files and understand the Transcon DDL workflow to ensure shipments have proper events.
• Coordinate appointments for shipments needing them and update delivery dates.
• Dispatch shipments timely based on arrival and appointment; update statuses in systems.
• Manage GPS loads and ensure paperwork, seals, and GPS units are assigned.
• Adhere to procedures, escalate issues to Management, and meet KPI standards.

Operations:

• Knowledge to create Import files.
• Understand and use the Transcon DDL workflow and other tools to ensure shipments have the proper events in the files.
  • Ensure to request appointments for shipments delivering to Consignees that need one if no appointment is needed.
    • SFS/CVC no APR
  • Ensure to update appointment once confirmed.
    • APR no APT
  • Ensure to update Expected Delivery date for shipments that do not need appointment based on arrival.
    • ADD/AFD no EDL/APT
  • Dispatch shipments timely based on arrival and appointment.
    • APT/RDL no ESD
    • TBS/DOP no ESD
• GPS loads and truck monitoring
  • Ensure all paperwork, seals and GPS units are assigned prior to GPS shipments being picked up.
  • Ensure all HAWB’s and shipments are loaded on the correct trucks
• Adherence to procedures as outlined in DLSOPS for customers.
• Escalation of problems to Management when necessary.
• Promote compliance in diligently following all company policies and regulations and performing the task at hand with outstanding integrity and pride.
• Meet KPI standards in accordance with the Company’s procedures.
• Must meet 52 hours of training yearly.
