Job summary

Florida Department of Health in Tallahassee seeks a Transactions-focused attorney to advise on written agreements, procurements, and contract management. You will interact with DEPCS personnel and provide program counsel support in a dynamic state environment.

Requirements include a JD from an ABA-accredited school, Florida Bar membership, and experience drafting or reviewing contracts, MOUs, leases, or grant awards. Willingness to work outside normal hours in emergencies is expected.

Qualifications

• Requires JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Must be a member of the Florida Bar in good standing.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, or advising on written agreements such as contracts, MOUs, provider agreements, leases, or grant awards.
• Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on arrangements and relationships that warrant written agreements (contracts, MOUs, leases, grant awards).
• Advise on procurements, bid protests, and contract management for the Department.
• Interact daily with DEPCS program personnel and input on solicitations and contracts.
• Serve as the designated DEPCS backup to Program Counsel and provide support as needed.
