Job summary

Sawtooth Mining seeks a Mining Engineer to support planning for a developmental surface lithium mine at the Thacker Pass project in Nevada. The role includes preparing short-range production plans, grade control, and coordinating with operations and contractors to ensure plans are executed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include planning surveys, contributing to engineering studies, assisting with budget development, and providing environmental and regulatory support as the project

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years mining engineer experience in surface mining.
• Willing to relocate to Winnemucca, Nevada.

Responsibilities

• Plan and track short-range production during construction and early mine production.
• Develop ore grade control plans and schedules to meet quality requirements.
• Assist in equipment scheduling to maximize efficiency.
• Plan site surveys for material movement and validation of construction.
• Support engineering studies including budgets and optimization projects.
• Provide technical support for environmental projects related to permitting and compliance.
• Oversee waste-stream planning as plant transitions to production.
• Assist in design and oversight of construction projects (buildings, concrete, water management).
• Ensure MSHA safety and regulatory compliance in daily duties.
