Job summary

Texas HHSC is seeking a Training and Development Specialist II to design, deliver, and evaluate competency-based training for facility staff. The role includes orientation, refresher courses, and collaboration with multiple departments to tailor curricula for healthcare environments.

The position requires strong instructional skills, familiarity with adult learning principles, and the ability to maintain accurate training records. A related degree and one year of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred.
• At least one year of experience providing training to adults or persons with developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, and conducts training classes in group or computer lab settings, including New Hire Orientation.
• Evaluates employee competencies and skills as required by policy or course requirements.
• Promotes training quality and adapts content to increase relevance and engagement.
• Maintains training records and attendance across applicable systems.
• Develops curriculum materials and utilizes multimedia to enhance training.
