Job summary

STIHL Inc. in Portland, OR is seeking a Training Manager to lead live instruction for STIHL's Commercial Learning and Development team, delivering engaging training experiences that connect products, purpose, and brand values.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in training/coaching, strong facilitation and public speaking skills, and will travel up to 60%. Bachelor's degree in Education or related field and familiarity with LMS platforms are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Communications, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years in training, facilitation, or coaching roles.
• Experience training on products or systems with hands-on components.
• Familiarity with STIHL’s product categories or dealer networks.
• Proven success delivering high-impact instruction to adult learners.
• Up to 60% travel - 25% travel by air.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions for STIHL commercial teams, dealers, and channel partners
• Deliver engaging, brand-aligned instruction on product knowledge, sales strategies, and customer engagement
• Partner with instructional designers to enhance existing training programs based on learner feedback
• Coach field reps and trainers to elevate facilitation techniques and learning outcomes
• Assess learner performance and gather feedback to identify improvements
• Represent STIHL values and culture in every learning interaction — modeling professionalism, integrity, and a passion for craftsmanship
• All other duties and responsibilities as assigned
