Job summary

Cedar Point Amusement Park offers an Internship Program designed to inspire and equip the next generation of leaders through transformative, hands-on experiences within our dynamic operations. The program blends academic knowledge with practical application to empower interns for future careers and the communities they serve.

Interns participate in Ride Operations Training and Admissions Training, leading sessions, coaching peers, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Internship duration: minimum 8 weeks (May 1–August 31).
  • Availability: at least 4 days per week, 2 days include Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun.
  • Minimum 32 hours per week.
  • Attend required professional development events.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check as required by policy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead department training sessions for ride operations anew and returning associates.
  • Collaborate with leadership to keep training materials current and effective.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to associates during training sessions.
  • Conduct ongoing in-service training to reinforce safety, operational standards, and guest service excellence.
  • Deliver engaging training across multiple guest-facing teams (Admissions, etc.).
  • Support learning in classroom and on-the-job settings.
  • Maintain training records in the Learning Management System (Dayforce).
  • Identify operations challenges and develop targeted in-service training to close performance gaps.

Responsibilities
Ride Operations Training & Development
  • Lead department training sessions for new and returning ride operations associates.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure training materials are current and effective.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to associates during training sessions.
  • Conduct ongoing in-service training to reinforce safety, operational standards, and guest service excellence.
Admissions Training & Development
  • Delivery engaging and effective department training sessions across multiple guest‑facing teams.
  • Support learning in both structured classroom environments and dynamic, on‑the‑job settings.
  • Maintain accurate training records using the company’s Learning Management system (Dayforce).
  • Identify operations challenges and develop targeted in‑service training to address performance gaps throughout the season.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be attending an accredited college or university
  • Work a minimum of 8 weeks between May 1-August 31
  • Availability requirements:
    • Minimum of 4 days per week of full availability
    • 2 of the 4 days must include either Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday
  • Work a minimum average of 32 hours per week
  • Attend required professional development events
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs
  • Ability to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial law
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law
