Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Seasonal Recreation Intern for January to May 2027 to oversee craft bar, pool and beach rentals experiences. You will monitor a team of recreation attendants, engage guests, and help create memorable vacation moments across daily craft offerings and special events.

Role requires standing for long periods, ability to lift and move equipment, and driving as needed. This is a seasonal, on-site opportunity at our Florida property.

Qualifications

  • Exposure to varied weather conditions and environments.
  • Ability to stand and move for up to 6 hours.
  • Able to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
  • Capable of pushing/pulling carts and equipment up to 100 lbs regularly.
  • Bend, stoop, and stretch to fulfill lifting tasks.

  • Take reservations for camp and craft experiences.
  • Host and assist daily craft offerings and camp themes.
  • Demonstrate creativity, crowd management, and enthusiasm.
  • Handle guest complaints with courage and confidence.
  • Supervise craft attendants and act as a coach/mentor to staff.
  • Plan and implement group recreation events and beach activities.
  • Create a welcoming environment for holiday events.
  • Assist at pool/beach welcome desks to elevate guest experience.
  • Inspect department areas daily for cleanliness and safety hazards.
  • Assist in preparing weekly staff schedules.

Job description

Overview:

To oversee the successful execution of craft bar, pool and beach rentals experiences and family entertainment by monitoring the team of recreation attendants, engaging with guests, and creating memorable vacation moments.

This seasonal intern role is for January to May 2027.

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for opening and closing procedures of camp room and craft bar
  • Take guest reservations for camp and craft experiences
  • Host and assist execution of daily craft offerings, camp themes
  • Demonstrate creativity, crowd management, and Tanner enthusiasm
  • Effectively handling guest complaints and resolving issues with courage and confidence
  • Supervise craft attendants, camp counselors, acting as a coach/mentor and positive role model while referencing the company culture throughout daily practices
  • Implement group recreation events; Scavenger hunts, beach fires, team building, organizer games.
  • Create a welcoming environment with for our holiday events
  • Work at the welcome desks at the pool and beach providing services to elevate the guest experience.
  • Inspect all department areas daily, monitor cleanliness, organization and reporting of safety hazards with follow up (camp room, craft storage area, craft cabinets/tables, towel stations, Gamer’s etc.)
  • Assist in preparing weekly schedules by providing staffing needs
  • Act as Recreation’s Supervisor on Duty when scheduled accordingly
  • Assist in preparing for and presenting monthly team meetings and trainings
  • May assist in research and brainstorming new programming
  • Assist in all other aspects of the recreation department as needed including supervising Evening Events or Group Recreation Events (ie. beach fires, teambuilding, holiday special programs)
  • Must maintain valid driver’s license and certified driver status for ability to drive company vehicles
Qualifications:
  • Exterior and occasionally interior of hotel with exposure to various weather conditions such as extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, sun and darkness with limited lighting
  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 100lbs. on a regular and continuing basis
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill lifting task
