The Training Coordinator welcomes and supports new staff through their initial experiences at Choices and serves as an ambassador for the values and approaches that are consistent across all Choices regions. The Training Coordinator is responsible for organizing and implementing training initiatives impacting new and existing staff in all regions. This individual is tasked with maintaining systems that ensure fidelity to training requirements set by accreditation standards, contractual requirements, and Choices’ policy to ensure that all staff meet training standards and are consistently prepared for work in the communities that Choices serves. The Training Coordinator serves as a hub of communication for new staff as well as the leaders and local trainers that support their growth. The Training Liaison provides training to Choices employees using a variety of media, including in-person, video conferencing, and webinars.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedules, supports, and leads implementation of the Wraparound Onboarding experience.
- Leads selected onboarding activities and makes connections to the Choices Pillars and Phrases that Pay throughout all events.
- Ensures onboarding occurs for all new staff including coordinating scheduling and sending out agenda and outlook invitations.
- Serves as virtual host for most onboarding training events with tasks including presenting content, introducing speakers, taking attendance, and/or following up around absences or technical issues.
- Coordinates with IT, HR, and service sites to support streamlining IT equipment set up process for new hires.
- Serves as a reliable point of contact for new hires throughout the centralized onboarding experience.
- Facilitates open and effective communication with staff members at all levels in all Choices regions about onboarding activities and other training initiatives.
- Assures that the Choices’ onboarding curriculum reflects the latest information and best practices in systems of care, wraparound, care coordination, supervision, managed care, and other identified areas.
- Supports maintenance and accuracy of Choices Master Training Plan.
- Maintains and updates annual calendars for onboarding and ongoing training events; manages registration, invitations, and attendance tracking.
- Develops training for organizational initiatives as needed.
- Monitors timely completion of Onboarding Plans and leads follow-up with local supervisors to support compliance.
- As appropriate, completes training in relevant evidence-based processes for the purpose of becoming a qualified trainer/coach (Ex: TBRI, Wraparound) and provides direct limited consultation to staff.
- Coordinates the efforts of subject matter expert trainers.
- Tracks completion of ongoing required training for all Choices staff using identified E-Learning platforms and/or other databases.
- Uses available data and/or collects data to identify areas for improvement related to the Choices’ training curriculum and the methods used for providing the training.
- Actively involved with startup operations for new programs and/or new office locations.
- Facilitates registration and logistics for culture-based trainings and renewal events.
- Coordinates implementation of local mentor programs by providing initial and ongoing support to designated local mentors and monitoring required documentation.
- Organizes, implements, and documents meetings of the Employee Advisory Board.
- Tracks licensure and certification expiration dates. Supports tracking of state/contract specific training requirements.
- Willingly completes other duties as assigned to advance the mission of choices.
Qualifications
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in social work or related field. Significant experience related directly to position duties may be considered as substitute for formal education.
- Minimum of five years of experience in human services field.
- Experience as a trainer, coach, or adult educator at the supervisory/management level is required.
- Extensive knowledge and practice of wraparound philosophy, system of care values, and care coordination responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of and genuine respect for youth and adults with mental health issues and a firm commitment to empowering their families.
- Strong communication and writing skills. Bilingual skills (especially Spanish) a plus.
- Highly organized, detail oriented.
- Access to reliable transportation. Must possess a valid driver’s license in state of residence and auto insurance.

Salary Range $52,000-$60,000
