PSYCHIATRY (IN-PSYC-IUINA)

Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Ensures ongoing accreditation and compliance for the Post Pediatric Portal Residency Program by adhering to accreditation standards and facilitating timely and accurate reporting.
- Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the program's educational and departmental functions, including coordination among attending physicians, residents, and institutional and regulatory administrative offices.
- Collaborates with the Program Director and faculty in the development and continuous improvement of the curriculum, ensuring the integration and evaluation of core competencies across all educational components.
- Oversees the full cycle of resident recruitment, including application review, development, and maintenance of promotional materials (e.g., brochures, website), interview scheduling, and coordination of pre-interview and interview day logistics.
- Collaborates with and co-leads initiatives with Indiana University School of Medicine (IUSM) statewide Psychiatry Education Coordinators and works directly with the Statewide Director of Psychiatry Medical Student Education.
- Serves as a primary Psychiatry contact for medical students, providing support and guidance throughout their educational experience.
- Manages and maintains educational resources for students and faculty through the Canvas learning management system.
- Oversees student instruction and assessment for the Psychiatry Clerkship, including scheduling of lectures and exams, and ensures timely completion of evaluations and grade submissions.
General Responsibilities
- Provides administrative support to the department, such as managing calendars, answering phone calls, creating routine and confidential correspondence, drafting reports and presentations, and arranging meetings and conferences.
- Schedules rotations and clinic hours for members, and may arrange extracurricular activities.
- Counsels current and incoming residents on administrative issues such as scheduling, rotation requirements, benefits, and leave.
- Coordinates activities related to recruitment, including events, screening, interviewing, reference checks, and orientation for candidates.
- Maintains ongoing documentation with respect to accuracy, confidentiality, and accessibility.
- Implements program improvement projects from initiation to execution.
- Offers recommendations to improve program administration and/or the overall quality of care.
- Participates in the planning and development of academic and clinical requirements to ensure that all accreditation standards are maintained.

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment.
