Job description

POSITION PURPOSE

Flight Training Coordinators are integral to the pilot training program, ensuring essential training needs are met. They facilitate student, instructor, and simulator schedules throughout the training timeline, from post-Indoctrination through Flight Training Devices, Simulators, and up to the Initial Operating Experience (IOE). They also apply the theory of constraint to optimize resource utilization and training effectiveness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

To perform this role successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

  • Oversee and adjust pilot training plans as needed, employing critical thinking to develop efficient solutions.
  • Coordinate with Training Managers to facilitate scheduled and unscheduled training events, ensuring positive and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Communicate daily priorities and critical tasks to team members.
  • Respond to emails and in-office inquiries from instructors and students.
  • Manage TSA security requirements for foreign nationals participating in simulator training, ensuring compliance.
  • Utilize tools such as Fox Britannica, Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Power BI, Outlook, and Teams to maintain accurate and current information.
  • Plan recurrent training sessions, book simulator and flight training device times, and coordinate resources.
  • Coordinate schedules of check airmen and instructors for training events.
  • Adapt to changes in training schedules and plan for future training needs.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail to monitor the progression of pilot training.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

The following are essential for successful performance in this role:

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft OS, Office Suite, and web browsers.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to new software applications.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Experience in the airline industry.
  • Associate's Degree.

Language Skills

Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals; write routine reports; and effectively communicate verbally with groups.

Reasoning/Problem Solving

  • Apply common sense to follow instructions.
  • Handle problems involving standard variables.
  • Multitask while solving problems and communicating with multiple parties.

Critical Thinking/Decision Making

Make daily resource decisions, determine methods to solve problems based on policies, with high impact decisions.

Physical Demands

Ability to move around, stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear as required.

Work Environment

Generally not exposed to extreme conditions.

Travel Requirements

Up to 10% travel may be required.
