Job description

POSITION PURPOSE

Flight Training Coordinators are an integral part of the pilot training program, ensuring that essential pilot training needs are met. This associate facilitates student, instructor, and simulator schedules for each class throughout the training timeline. This includes starting after Indoctrination, during Flight Training Devices and Simulators, and up until the beginning of Initial Operation Experience (IOE). Additionally, they utilize the theory of constraint concept to optimize resource allocation and training efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Oversee pilot training plans and adjust them as necessary due to circumstantial issues, using critical thinking skills to formulate inventive and efficient solutions.
  • Coordinate with Training Managers to ensure positive and corrective actions are taken while facilitating scheduled and unscheduled pilot training events.
  • Communicate daily critical tasks and important items to team members.
  • Manage emails and in-office questions from instructors and students.
  • Monitor TSA security requirements for Foreign Nationals entering simulator training sessions, ensuring federal compliance.
  • Utilize tools such as Fox Britannica, Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Power BI, Outlook, and Teams to ensure information accuracy and currency.
  • Plan recurrent training events, book simulator and flight training device time, and coordinate resources.
  • Coordinate schedules of check airmen and instructors for training events.
  • React to changes in training plans and anticipate future training needs.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail to monitor the progression of pilot training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft OS, including Office Suite and web browsers.
  • Ability to multitask and interact with multiple applications, adapting to new software as needed.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.

Preferred Education and/or Experience

  • Previous experience in the airline industry.
  • Associate's Degree.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals. Capable of writing routine reports and communicating effectively with groups.

Reasoning/Problem Solving

  • Apply common sense to follow instructions.
  • Handle problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Manage multiple tasks while applying problem-solving skills.

Critical Thinking/Decision Making

Make daily decisions regarding resource use, solving problems based on established policies. High impact of decisions.

Physical Demands

Able to move about the work environment, frequently standing, walking, sitting, talking, and hearing.

Work Environment

Typically not exposed to extreme environmental conditions.

Travel Requirements

Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
