Martin Luther Care Center in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Trained Medical Aide (TMA) to support residents in our skilled nursing facility. This role provides hands-on care, medication administration under the direction of a licensed nurse, and collaborates with the care team to maintain comfort and dignity.

The position offers a part-time schedule of 32 hours per two weeks, evening shifts, and every other weekend, with a focus on ADLs, mobility, nutrition, and timely

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant Course is required.
• Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry is required.
• Completion a standardized medication administration training program for unlicensed personnel in nursing homes which is offered through a Minnesota postsecondary educational institution.

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares (ADLs) based on individual plan of care and kardex.
• Provides AM/PM cares and full bath/shower.
• Provides oral hygiene and nail care; shaving as appropriate.
• Checks hearing aids; cleans eye glasses.
• Ensures residents are clean, dry, dressed and groomed.
• Repositions residents; performs ROM and ambulation as applicable.
• Provides adequate nutrition and hydration; distributes meal trays and assists residents as needed.

Job Overview

Martin Luther Care Center is seeking a ursing Trained Medical Aide (TMA) to support our residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility (Transitional Care and Long Term Care)! This role provides hands on care and support services for our senior age patients at our spacious care center in Bloomington, MN. The Nursing Assistant/Registered/TMA is responsible for providing resident care and services including administration of medication under the direction of the nurse.

This patient support position includes;

• 32 hours per two weeks
• Evening shift
• Every other weekend

Responsibilities

• Assists residents with personal cares(ADL’s) based on individual plan of care and kardex:
• Provides AM/PM cares
• Provides full bath/shower
• Provides oral hygiene
• Provides nail care; shaving as appropriate
• Checks hearing aides; cleans eye glasses
• Assures that residents are clean, dry, dressed and groomed appropriately
• Reposition residents
• Performs Restorative Nursing Programs (i.e. ROM, ambulation) as applicable
• Provides adequate nutrition & hydration (distributes meal trays, assists residents as needed, provides nourishment & water between meals as requested)
• Assures individual toileting plan is followed
• Answers call lights promptly
• Observes residents and reports status to appropriate staff:
• Receives report at the start of the shift
• Gives report to team leader at the end of the shift & PRN
• Notifies appropriate staff of any changes in a timely & appropriate manner (i.e. incidents, skin integrity, behavior changes, illness)
• Offers pertinent observations & input for documentation and care plan updates
• Uses kardex
• Takes and documents and reports weights
• Documents completed cares in POC

Required Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant Course
• Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
• Completion a standardized medication administration training program for unlicensed personnel in nursing homes which is offered through a Minnesota postsecondary educational institution. This does not expire as long as they keep their NAR certification current.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School Diploma or
• GED
• 1 year None to 1 Year
