Martin Luther Care Center in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Registered (CNA/NAR) to support residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility. The role involves hands-on care per individualized plans, with evening shifts and every other weekend and holiday rotations.

Eligible candidates include current NAR/CNA registry holders or those in Ebenezer's Nursing Assistant Course or Pre-CNA program, with a path to active registration within four months.

Qualifications

• Active Nursing Assistant, Registered (NAR) on the MDH Registry by start date.
• Ability to work with a diverse and geriatric population.
• Efficient communication with residents and coworkers with compassion.
• Experience as HHA, PCA, DSP, NA, or Resident Assistant.
• Customer service experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal cares per care plan (bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, showers) and respond to call lights.
• Check and record vitals per shift.
• AM/PM/NOC cares; peri care and catheter care.
• Assist with turns/transfers using appropriate support.
• Observe residents and report status to staff clearly.
• Document in the electronic medical record system.
• Address resident and family concerns.
• Receive and give reports during shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness of rooms and work areas; report equipment issues; answer phones promptly.

Job Overview

Martin Luther Care Center is seeking a Nursing Assistant/Registered (CNA/NAR) to support our residents in our Skilled Nursing Facility (Transitional Care and Long term care)! This role provides hands on care and support services for our senior age patients at our spacious care center in Bloomington, MN.

This patient support position includes;

• 16 hours every two weeks
• Evening shift
• Includes every other weekend (Saturday/Sunday) and holiday rotations

• Assists resident based on individual care plan with personal cares such as bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, showers and responds to call lights
• Nursing Assistant may per community patient care model check and record vitals
• AM/PM/NOC cares; including peri care and catheter care
• May turn, lift or transfer residents with or without other persons/mechanical assistance
• Observes residents and reports status to appropriate staff in a clear and concise manner
• Chart or document in electronic medical record system
• Seeks to resolve resident and family concerns
• Receives and gives report to appropriate staff during various times in work shift
• Other duties such as order and cleanliness in rooms and work areas, reports malfunctioning equipment to maintenance department, and answers phones in a timely manner

Required

Active as Nursing Assistant, Registered (NAR) on the MDH Nursing Assistant Registry by start date - OR- Individual who is hired into Ebenezer's Nursing Assistant Course or Ebenezer's Pre-CNA job for Nursing Assistants; will be granted a 4-month post hire to become active on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.

Preferred

Ability to work with a diverse and geriatric population

Communicate efficiently, with compassion and understanding for residents and coworkers

Experience working as a HHA, PCA, DSP, NA, Resident Assistant

Work experience in a customer service setting
