Job summary

CPKC is seeking a Trainmaster to coordinate yard-terminal and road operations, ensuring safe, cost-effective planning and execution. You will supervise train movements, coach Train & Engine staff, and maintain safety culture across the terminal and routes.

Responsibilities include overseeing LOSP/OP, investigating issues, and managing inventory while ensuring compliance with CROR/GCOR and company policies. Applicants should have railway conductor experience and be ready for varied shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Railway conductor experience required, locomotive engineer qualification asset.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to work varied shifts.
• 2+ years supervisory experience in logistics or operations a plus.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute yard and road operations and LOSP/OP plans.
• Supervise train movements and ensure safety and efficiency.
• Own safety, service, productivity, and financial metrics for the terminal.
• Lead safety discussions and corrective actions; investigate incidents as needed.
• Manage inventory for terminals and rail routes; mentor Train & Engine staff.
