Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in Transportation or Train Operations preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of railroad rules and related manuals.
• Previous Train Dispatcher experience preferred.
• Ability to learn train operations and railroad characteristics.
• Strong decision-making and safety awareness.
• Good communication skills and color vision.
• Proficient with computerized train control applications.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch train and engineering movements in a safe and efficient manner.
• Issue track authorities for safe movement with detailed execution.
• Provide track authorities to protect engineering personnel.
• Record required information per railroad and federal regulations.
• Inform the Director of Dispatching about operations and delays.
• Issue Track Bulletins to protect trains and personnel.
• Ensure timely car movement and report delays to Dispatching.
• Assist investigations of accidents and injuries when required.
• Comply with rules, procedures, and Safety Plan requirements.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
