AtkinsRealis USA Inc. is seeking a Train Control Design Manager in Lynnwood, WA to lead the design, integration, and commissioning of train control systems including ATP, ATO, and CBTC.

You will direct the train control discipline, manage staff, and ensure project success through technical excellence and adherence to safety standards. The role requires a PE license and 15–20 years of rail/transit experience with strong technical writing and communication skills to coordinate with

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• M.S. or graduate-level technical coursework preferred.
• P.E. license is required.
• Familiarity with AREMA, IEEE, FRA, FTA standards and safety certification processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, integration, and commissioning of train control systems (ATP, ATO, CBTC).
• Oversee system architectures, interface specs, and test procedures for interoperability with legacy infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership during hazard analysis, FMEA, and safety certification tasks.
• Coordinate with signalling engineers, software developers, and operations staff across projects.
• Serve as primary liaison with clients, regulators, and vendors; oversee scope, staffing, and scheduling.
