AtkinsRéalis USA Inc. is seeking a Communications Design Manager for Rail & Transit in Lynnwood, WA. The role leads design, integration, and commissioning of communications systems, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and interoperability across subsystems.

The ideal candidate has 15–20 years in rail/transit environments with 10+ years focused on communications, strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and client interfaces.

Qualifications

• Proven technical writing and communication skills demonstrated in industry reports, papers, or committees.
• Ability to lead teams and coordinate cross-disciplinary activities on complex rail projects.
• Familiarity with safety-critical systems and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, integration, and commissioning of rail communications systems (radio, fiber, network).
• Ensure compliance with FCC, FRA, FTA, AREMA standards and safety requirements.
• Provide technical leadership during hazard analyses, FMEA, and safety certification processes.
