AtkinsRéalis in Lynnwood, WA is seeking a Train Control Design Manager to lead the design, integration, and commissioning of train control systems such as ATP, ATO, and CBTC. You will coordinate cross‑functional teams, define system architectures, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance for passenger and freight rail projects.

You will guide hazard analyses, safety certifications, and client communications, while managing scope, schedule, and resources for complex train control programs.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
• M.S. or graduate-level technical coursework preferred.
• P.E. license is required.
• Familiarity with AREMA, IEEE, FRA and FTA standards and safety processes.
• 15–20 years in rail/transit; 10+ years focused on train control.

Responsabilités

• Lead design, integration, and commissioning of train control systems (ATP/ATO/CBTC).
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams across signalling, software, and operations.
• Develop architectures, interfaces and test procedures for interoperability.
• Provide technical leadership in hazard analysis, FMEA, and safety certifications.
• Interface with clients, regulators, and vendors to ensure compliance and project success.
• Plan, prioritize, and review project plans; oversee design staff and site work.
