FedEx Logistics is seeking a reliable Yard Switcher/Package Handler to move trailers between yard and doors, and to assist with loading, unloading, and sorting of packages in a fast-paced environment.

No formal education is required; entry-level position with potential for growth. A valid driver’s license and DOT compliance are needed, along with the ability to follow instructions and sort packages accurately. The role offers full-time hours at $25.00 per hour, with midnight and sunrise shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain a DOT file.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions regarding work duties and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
• Ability to use basic tools and equipment such as skate wheel rollers, dock carts, hand-held scanners, chutes and unloading devices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Moves trailers between yard and doors; hooks and moves parked trailers from yard to load/unload doors or from doors to yard.
• Communicates with management to coordinate trailer movements in the yard.
• Documents trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on switcher equipment.
• Follows yard switching safety processes and procedures.
• Loads and unloads packages onto/off delivery vehicles, trailers, and carts as required.
• Lifts and sorts packages; scans and directs packages by numbers and labels.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
